Fall is here! The lower temperatures and the crisp autumn air make this my favorite time of year. We are enjoying warm Indian summer   temperatures and golden sunshine, but I know we will all welcome the rain when it comes.

The Grange Hall was the site for eight weddings and receptions this summer. I want to thank everyone who has helped keep the building and grounds in beautiful shape. Thank you to Bill Lloyd and Kurt Lucke for keeping the grass watered and green – and that wasn’t an easy job this year with the high temperatures and wind. Thank you to Dennis Giannotti and Gary Wargo for fertilizing and cutting the grass. We could always count on a beautifully mown lawn for every wedding!

These rentals account for a large share of our annual income, just one reason we need to keep our building and grounds well maintained. The work done at our work party at the end of March cleaned up some areas that really needed help, and we hope to do that again next spring. There are always projects that need to be done in a building that gets this much use, so I’m thankful for our willing volunteers – Thank You!

Our Fall Season starts out with our Hunters Breakfast on October 17. This year marks the 28th year folks have come out to the hall for breakfast on opening day of deer season here in the Teanaway! November 14 is the date of our Christmas Bazaar, now going strong for 20 years. We have great vendors, the best baked goods, and a delicious hot lunch menu that bring people back year after year. These are long-standing events that people in our community count on. They are the pictures that come to mind when people think about our Grange. And on December 6 we thank our community for their support by hosting a Community Christmas Dinner. I hope you will come out to these family-friendly events; I hope you will volunteer to help as well. It’s what makes being a member of our Grange so worthwhile and so much fun!
